FightClub uses principle from martial art – Systema; often neglected in exercise: the tool is an extension of the body.
The body has a particular mechanical sense for the position of each part of you and where it needs to be. When unintelligently loading the body, without creating a new movement that includes the tool AS AN EXTENSION of your body, you may become stronger... but eventually, inevitably worse (poorer functioning). When designed correctly, a movement increases bodily awareness, and the plastic complexity of the nervous system: you become a stronger AND better tool-user, not merely a stronger one.
This is the actual, correct definition of movement training versus exercise. Stronger isn't better; only better is better.
