WHY YOU CAN'T TRANSFER A HABIT TO PRACTICAL EVERYDAY LIFE ?
You need a plan. Nothing great happens by accident. That is what you Systema training at FightClub does …It gives you a PLAN and you get MY guidance along the way. Students ask me all the time… "can you take a look at look at my skills and tell me what is wrong?" I could… but that would only be a SMALL part of the plan. We need to dig MUCH deeper than "tell me what is wrong". We do need to IDENTIFY the habit, but then we also need to ISOLATE that habit. And that is more than just "martial arts skills". And assuming you do those two things well, we still need to LAYER drills so that we can learn to apply the new habit into real life situations.
THAT IS THE REAL WORK. Most people think the first two stages are the important part but those are the easy parts. Think about it. How many times have you said "I just can’t apply this when someone is really coming at me"? You can do whatever habit you are working on when you practice by yourself, but you can’t do it in a real situation… That is because you never learned to LAYER the drills you were doing. Yes, we will IDENTIFY the habit. Yes, we will ISOLATE the habit with some specific drills. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, we will LAYER the drills so you can actually learn to do them in real situations.
